Young Lust (Desolation Angels)

Title: Young Lust
Characters: Dean, OFC (Dean/OFC)
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 269
Summary: So he – so they have to be careful. Or rather, they will have to be.
Notes: The much-awaited deleted scene from the Desolation Angels series. I wrote it before Rocky Mountain High, but it ended up not fitting into the canon like I’d hoped it would. So. Enjoy. Title is from the song by Pink Floyd.

Young Lust

He has to be careful – more careful than he ever was before the end of the world. Before the end of the world, at least there were doctors. Now there’s only condoms and the pill (if they can find a pharmacy that’s not been raided). He’s not ready to deliver a baby and definitely not ready to be a father.

So he - so they have to be careful. Or, rather, they will have to be. When they’re ready to, you know.

He’s not really sure why the thought of sex makes him so nervous now. It didn’t use to bother him, back before the apocalypse, back when he could have a different girl every night if he wanted (which, often, he did). But now it’s just him and Jamie, and they see each other all day every day, no breaks ever. She’s seen him when he’s barely holding it together (only girl to ever see him like that); he’s seen her when all she seems to be capable of is ranting and raving about how their lives suck (she always apologizes the next week).

So it’s kind of a big deal.

He thinks probably Jamie would jump right into it if he’d let her, but he’s trying to be more careful than that. Thing is, if it doesn’t work out (if they grow tired of each other), they’re stuck with each other, at least until they can find a car that’s in good enough shape to hotwire. But the truth is, he doesn’t want her to leave. He likes the company, and that’s far more important than sex.
